Celebrating harmony and connectedness!
“Women must own their rights; they do not have to be given. Women already have them” said His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at the inaugural session of 6th International Women’s Conference hosted by the Art of Living Foundation on Feb 7-9, 2014 at Art of Living International Centre, Bangalore India.
I was honoured and privileged be one of the speakers in an esteemed gathering of around 700 women from 60 countries around the globe. The conference theme was Harmony: Evolution towards Perfection. Does that sound interesting, powerful, meaningful and spiritual, right? It was beyond imagination-a conference that was one of its own kinds, at least for me. Knowledge and wisdom from various speeches and panel discussions on dynamism, conscious leadership, media, and youth, sustainability in business and environment and ethical practices was pooled. It was evident that we all are connected not because of the consumerism, economics and business but through the One Consciousness at Cosmic level. Women are the basis of strength to spread love, peace and harmony to make this planet a better place to live and not just survive.
Sharing my journey to inner peace and outer connectedness and harmony!!
Sailing through Opposites: Be Natural, was the session theme for my talk. I have had delivered various talks based on the empirical studies and research findings, historical numbers and trends-where it takes minimum 6 months to one year to have a research paper ready to present. Delivering a speech on International Women’s Conference was a unique platform for me. I spoke from my heart and it was an extempore. The talk was very well received. I realized that our stories are just reflections of each others’ lives-connectedness. It was a bliss to share my journey towards inner peace and harmony and spreading the same in the earthy world. Opposites coexist not just in our personal lives but even in business decision making in our professional lives. In my role as an educator, I connect with my students not because of authority or my educational degrees, but simply on basic human values of compassion and care.Being in knowledge, being centred and being natural helps me nurturing and working at the same time-lifting up the consciousness by touching one soul at a time.
A salute to all women on the International Women’s Day. Let us pledge to nurture a harmonious society. Let us start by connecting to our inner self first. Mediate, live in knowledge and be natural.
Happy International Women’s Day!!
